Well we have our regular hass avocado from Mexico but have you heard of Dominican avocado.
Dominican avocado is also known as “Desbry Tropical Avocados”.
They have a thinner layer of skin and a little fun fact is that they oxidize slower than our Hass avocado.
Besides having a thinner layer of avocado skin, the biggest difference is the size and the taste.
The Dominican avocado has a smoother texture and is great for on any type of bread.
It brings out a hint of sweet and creamy taste and would be a great substitute on a salad.
For anyone who is trying this for the first time, I would suggest shaking the avocado to test the ripeness.
Unlike our hass avocado we do not press on the Dominican avocado, we shake it.
If the avocado makes a beat when you shake it, it is most likely a ripe avocado.
Cut the avocado up into cubes, drizzle it with some olive oil and you can make a delicious guacamole, avocado toast, or even avocado dessert.
